Ciao snowy Italy and heloo to FWT ( my thanks to my sponsors "Rosa Khutor" and Quicksilver that I am here). After getting a "wall card" in the previous season and after a long period without skiing, problems with getting my passport, and not in my best shape but I've finally managed to get to and participate in one of the stages of FWT.After crossing Mont Blanc in the very early morning, i went to Geneva, where i met my friend and teammate from Quicksilver, Julien Lopez. On the next day we picked up Mati Imbert and drove to Fieberbrunn (Austria) and it took us 7 hours to get there. In the hotel, we grabbed some beer and went to riders meeting. After a long and boring speech there, Egor went out for minute right at the time when the selection of numbers was announced. Therefore, Seb Mucho pulled the paper with the numbers for me and I got 45th starting position out of 48. Whatever, no matter what, the most important thing for me is the actual "riding", but "riding" was quite aggressive. The condition of snow is completely different in compare to Krasnaya Poliana (the type and the amount of it). Very hard crust at the bottom and 15-20 cm of fresh and crumbly snow on the top was a challlenge. Especially, after 44 riders "nailed it" there was nothing left for me. This run was a great challenge for my damaged knee, that is still in the recovering state after an injury. Since I felt uncomfortable riding with my supporting knee pads in Italy, I've decided "to trust my injured knee" and left the pads in my backpack. On the day of slope screening I felt a bit confused because my experience of competing in such events is very narrow and I am always wondering how do judges actually judge and what do I have to do to impress them. My main objective was always getting FUN out of my riding =)There was a huge debate in regards to judging, how and what judges like to see, but because of my poor English Ive managed to understand only a small part of it.As usual, on the starting line ive put my favorite track and "let's go". My line was quite similar to Mati's with a small differences on the top part of slope - Ive failed to get to the "drop point". In the end, Drew Tabke took first place, with a great line,360 and a backflip. Kevin Guri was second and Reine Barkered took third. As always, after a competition there was a great "alco" party))On the next day in the "middle to bad" condition, me and Julien went back to France, where he was flying back to States and I was starting my training session in the park on the new model of skis by Klint.
